When she was a teenager she struggled with an eating disorder and a poor self image. Apple has overcome great advisory, being raped, having horrible nightmares, and a consent struggle with her public image.

One thing to be learned form Fiona is that she has been very open with her self-injury. No, it will never go away but now that it’s out it doesn’t seem so scary. “This happened to me, this happened to a lot of people. Why should I hide shit? Why does that give people a bad opinion of me? It's a reality. A lot of people do it.”

Johnny Depp

 Throughout the years Johnny Deep has maintained a ‘bad boy’ persona but in reality he is very insecure about his self-image and has had numerous problems with drugs and alcohol. "As a teenager I was so insecure. I was the type of guy that never fitted in because he never dared to choose. I was convinced I had absolutely no talent at all. And that thought took away all my ambition too." Johnny has seven scars on his left forearm. He believes they are a ‘right of passage’. "My body is a journal in a way. It's like what sailors used to do, where every tattoo meant something, a specific time in your life when you make a mark on yourself, whether you do it yourself with a knife or with a professional tattoo artist."

Angelina Jolie

Angelina has the Japanese symbol for "death" tattooed on her shoulder, and the Latin words, 'Quod me nutrit me destruit,' on her stomach, meaning, "What nourishes me also destroys me.
Angelina seems to be open about her cutting. She will not lie if you ask her why she has scars as some people do. She believes that she should not be made a ‘role model’ for cutters. She worries that people will think she is ‘cool’ for cutting. Angelina should be respected as an talented actress not a cutter.

Courtney Love

Courtney has been self-injuring since she was a child. She would sit out in the fields and cut herself with sharp blades of grass. She has many scars that cover her body.

Marilyn Manson

Marilyn Manson first started self-injuring himself when he was in the 9^th grade. He cut himself with a penknife in the middle of class. Manson has been hospitalized for his self-injury and is said to have over 450 scars. He is known for injuring himself on stage and because of this many people have mimicked his behavior.

Shirley Manson

Shirley Manson is the lead singer of the band Garbage. In school Manson was ridiculed for being ugly because of her looks. Student and teachers mocked her all throughout her school days. Because of this she turned to self-injury. She would cut her arms with Bic shaving razors. She would hide razors and other sharp objects in her boots and would cut her self when she felt like she needed to. Since then she has decided to stop cutting and to help with their problems with cutting.

"I'm speaking out because I feel this problem is getting worse for some kids. I'm not an expert on this, but you have to talk to someone. I've seen kids with cigarette burns on their arms or gashes on their legs. It kills me, but hopefully my coming forward can help a little."

Princess Diana

Diana, Princess of Wales, was born on July 1, 1961. She was loved all over the world and was also known as America Princess. Her parents divorced when she was only six years old.

Christina Ricci

Christina Ricci started burning herself at a very young age. "I wanted to see if I can handle pain. It's sort of an experiment to see if I can handle pain," she explains. She has burnt herself with many different objects, from lighters to cigarettes. She has also scratched her self with her fingernails and other various objects. Like many self-injurers Ricci also suffered from an eating disorder.
